Galeria Sri Perdana

The Galeria Sri Perdana was inaugurated by Tun Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi, Malaysia's fifth Prime Minister on 20 December 2003. Initially the gallery, also known as Sri Perdana, which is the fourth Prime Minister’s official residence, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and family since 1983 until he moved to Putrajaya in 1999. This Galeria was built to commemorate and remember Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's service as the “Modernization Father“ whom had provide major contributions to the country for 22 years.

Galeria Sri Perdana features the residency concept where most of the important spaces are maintained, while others are made into exhibition space. Suitable with the residency concept, most of the building structure and interior decorations are maintained as the original. Tourists who visit the place would be able to view the official residence of country’s top leaders. This is to tighten the citizens’ relationship with the leader in general and allow the visitors to know more about Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tun Dr Siti Hasmah personally. Apart from that, the tourists can view and appreciate the Prime Minister and his family’s service, contribution and struggle through the displayed materials.

The exhibition on the exterior section of the building is also maintained with the original landscape as those during Tun. Dr. Mahathir Mohamad were staying here.
