Jawi Peranakan Newspaper, 1888

      Jawi Peranakan was one of the earliest Malay newspapers published in the Malay States and Indonesia. The newspaper was published in Singapore and contained articles regarding the Straits Settlements, Johor, Selangor, Kedah, Brunei and Labuan, as well as covering events in Java, Sumatera, and other nearby islands. Jawi Peranakan is one of the oldest newspapers in the National Archives collections with the earliest edition dating back to 1888
