The glory of Rukun Negara Programme, Petaling District Rukun Negara Club 2013

The Independence Declaration Memorial Melaka, National Archives of Malaysia had received a visit from schools around the districts of Petaling Jaya and Petaling Perdana on 4 July 2013. The programme, organised by the Department of National Unity and Integration of Petaling District had involved a total of 85 Form Four and Five students, accompanied by 6 teachers and 5 officers of the Department of National Unity and Integration of Petaling Jaya District.

The purpose of this visit is to provide exposure to students on the importance of appreciating and practicing the rukun negara principles as well as to foster the spirit of patriotism in students.

A short briefing on the history of the National Archives of Malaysia and establishment of the Independence Declaration Memorial was presented by En. Datu Royniehasim Bin Datu Pindatun, Manager of the Independence Declaration Memorial. In addition to this, activities such as solving the independence luminaries’ puzzle, Sudoku and crossword puzzles were also held.
