Bukit Puteri Bukit Puteri

This bell, weighing 175 kilogramme was made of brass by a craftsman named Wan Ali Wan Awang, assisted by several other artisans from Kampung Tanjung and Kampung Paya, Kuala Terengganu.

The function of this bell was to proclaim or announce to the people of perplexing events that occurred in the state such as enemy invasion, fire and others. This bell would be struck loudly during calamities so to enable the people to be prepared for any eventualities.

To this day Bukit Puteri still stands majestically next to the Maziah Palace; safeguarding the ancient secrets and greatness of the past; and the greatness splendours of the Kingdom of Terengganu Darul Iman. In addition, Bukit Puteri is one of the state tourist attractions and is under the custody of the State Museum.
