ANM has started to roll out the MS ISO Quality Management System through certification MS ISO 9002:1994 received on 14th December 2000.
To ensure the effectiveness of SPK Implementation, the government has issued Public Administration Development Circular (PKPA) No. 2/2002 to provide information and guidelines in order to assist the agencies in implementing the SPK MS ISO for 2000 version. ANM has taken an initiative in implementing the SPK MS ISO 9001:2000 by obtaining the certification in 2004 and re-certified in December 2007. The certification scope for both versions in SPK MS ISO ANM is the Acquisition and Preservation of Government Official Files. This scope covers main process in record and archives management.
Since the implemented scope was done in both version of SPK MS ISO involved only one type of material, ANM has given a green light to widen the current scope to a new scope which is Record Management and the public Archive Administration. Under the new scope, it has added new process procedure and covers the entire public records and archives received and store in the ANM.
In line with ISO 9001:2008 application at the international level on 13th November 2008, ANM has also taken an initiative in adapting this version. The 2008 version does not have major changes to the current standard and only addition to the outsourcing process, training to improve the efficiency; work environment including physical and environment; and process measurement focusing on the effectiveness.
The implementation of the version adaptation and new scope is scheduled to be enforced on 1st August 2009 whereby it involves 19 sections and 35 Quality Procedures consist of Quality Manual, Compulsory procedure, Operational
