The University Malaya’s is an explorative journey through Asia’s Cultural landscape. Museum of Asian Art The collection at the Museum of Asian Art include of both local and Asian Art objects. Many other collections of cultural heritage and interest include Islamic & Malay Arts, Textiles, Stone Carvings, Islamic paintings, Copper items, Weapons and traditional Kites. It also holds 2,000 exclusive publications on Asian art that are only open to legal researchers and University of Malaya library members. With a collection built up over a half century, the Museum of Asian Art is well equipped to enhance your knowledge of the Asian world. New artifacts were acquired from various sources since then. The collection at the museum contains many rare and unique objects from amongst others the Chinese, Indians, Malays and the Islamic civilizations. Students and researchers will find this museum informative as there are other good materials in the form of art films, slides and pictures.

The three-storey building situated between the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Economics and Administration, the Museum is renowned for housing the largest collection of kendi (water vessels) in the world, as well as stone carvings and Islamic art collections from other Asian countries. The exhibits also include weaved materials and paintings by local artists, copperware, weapons and kites.
