THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF MALAYSIA
The National Archives of Malaysia was established on 1 December 1957, as the Public Record Office. Its roles and responsibilities at that time were limited to merely the management of official government files. In 1963, the Public Record Office was renamed as the National Archives, in accordance with international usage. In 1966, the National Archives Act No. 44 / 1966 was passed by Parliament providing for an expansion of the roles and responsibilities of the National Archives to include collection, preservation and provision for public records in its custody to be referred to by the public. Public records collected and preserved were not restricted to files alone, but different types of records as well, in various forms including paper records, films, microfilms, photographs, tape recordings, maps, plans and the like.
THE NATIONAL LIBRARY OF MALAYSIA
The National Library is responsible for providing to the public an accumulated knowledge at national level and no less for present and future generations to come. To continuously strengthen their collection, the National Library continuously acquires increasing numbers of publications. The current collections are divided into Malaysiana Collection, Rare Collection, Manuscripts, Serials, General Monograph Collection, Media Resources, Borrowing, United Nations Publications and the National Collection.The National Library (Perpustakaan Negara Malaysia) is in-built with diverse functions and services; supported by highly advanced facilities to put forward the best it can give to the public. Occupying 2.2 hectares, the Library proudly reflects a Malaysian identity in terms of the building's design. The design was conceptualized using the idea of the traditional Malay headgear - the tengkolok, which symbolizes pride and respect of our nation’s culture. The tengkolok-shaped roofs cap an open-air amphitheatre space; symbolizing the unity of our country.

THE TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN PUTRA MEMORIAL AND GALERIA SRI PERDANA
The Tunku Abdul Rahman Memorial was erected in memory of the Tunku's deeds and contributions as the Father of Independence and the first Prime Minister of Malaysia from 1957 to 1970. Officially opened by Y.A.B. Dato' Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad on 11 November 1994, the memorial exhibits the Tunku's legacy ranging from documents, photographs, gifts, newspaper cuttings, clothing and furniture. A screening area shows films/audio-visuals on the Tunku. The exhibition is divided into themes for the convenience of visitors who wish to get to know the personality of the late Tunku. The themes include Tunku and the Mass Media, Tunku's Concept/Philosophy and Tunku's Biography. Also exhibited is the old building housing the Tunku's office when he was Premier.
Galeria Sri Perdana was officially opened by Dato' Seri Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, on 20 December 2003. Sri Perdana was the former official residence of the fourth Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, from 23 August 1983 till 18 October 1999 when the government moved to Putrajaya. In 2000, it was handed over to the National Archives to be converted into Galeria Sri Perdana in appreciation of Tun Dr Mahathir's valuable contributions to the nation during his 22-year tenure as Prime Minister.
