SOCIAL PROGRAMMES
The 16th International Congress on ICA will be held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) from 21st July to 27th July 2008. Many exciting social programmes have been arranged to ensure all participants have a fair experience on Malaysian Culture.
Indoor
Programmes
The Indoor Programme will take place in Room 301 and Room 308. They are open
to the spouse or accompanying persons. Room 301 will have interactive programmes
that provide new hands-on experiences and enable you to learn more about traditional
Malay Dance, Shadow Play (Wayang Kulit), traditional games rare musical instruments
and Malaysian Handicrafts. The Room 308 on the other hand will function as
a mini cinema featuring documentaries and short films about the Malaysian
monarchy system, travel, history and a few other recommended films on famous
land marks, beautiful tropical flora and fauna.
Outdoor
Programmes
The Outdoor Programmes will include social trips, excursions and professional
visits. The Social Trips are open to the spouses and accompanying persons.
Free trips are provided daily on a first come first serve basis. Departure
time will be at 9.00 am every morning from KLCC. The Congress Secretariat
has taken great pain to organize excursions to interesting historical sites
in the state of Perak and Selangor. Do not miss these trips. Please check
programme schedule and book your seats early. The Professional Visits will
involve visits to the National Archives of Malaysia, and the National Library.
Night Distraction
Enjoy and experience the night life activities in Kuala Lumpur including a
night visit to the National Museum.
Interestingly the National Museum has agreed to extend
its opening hours till 10 pm during the congress week to accomodate visits
by congress participants and their spouses or accompanying person. Do not miss the other night activities such as KL Festival, KL Pac, KL
Samrah Festival and The Malaysia International Landscape & Garden Festival 2008. Participants can attend these activities on their own via
public transport.
