Non-Public Record Acquisition

The National Archives of Malaysia has conducted the identification and acquisition of Private Archive materials based on the earliest records in the history of the Malay Peninsula, which are found in the Private Letter Collection, Private Collections in and outside the country, and Non-Governmental Organization Archives. This collection is very interesting for reference and is obtained in various formats and media through transfer of ownership, purchase, donation, bequest, and gift.

Materials from this source can be accessed through the Computerised Archival System and Services (COMPASS), and digital records are stored and accessed within the Archival Management System (AMS) for the purpose of preserving digital records permanently.

These records are capable of attracting the interest of researchers and the public because they have research value and are very unique in the collection of individuals, non-governmental organizations, and foreign institutions. Researchers can access these collections based on the terms and conditions set in the Private Archive Collection.
