Consultation Services

Record Management Consultancy Service is a service provided by the National Archives Department to provide expert advice on record management programs, which include components such as:
  • Handling correspondence
  • File classification
  • File storage and maintenance
  • Preparation of Record Disposal Schedules
  • Record disposal
The Record Management Consultancy Service is offered to Ministries, Federal/State Departments, Local Authorities, Statutory Bodies, and Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) to enable the preparation and implementation of record management policies, regulations, manuals, and standards.

Government organizations interested in obtaining record management consultancy services can submit their application to the Consultancy and Training Section, National Archives of Malaysia.

Training

National Archives of Malaysia offers various courses in the field of record management covering principles, concepts, and regulations in government record management, as well as practices at every stage of creation, use, maintenance, and disposal of records. These courses are open to all civil servants.

To ensure that record management at the Ministry/Department/Government Agency level is always at its best and efficient, the National Archives of Malaysia is ready to assist the Ministry/Department/Government Agency in providing training needs in specialized record management for officers and staff through courses offered such as:
Record Management Course for Department Record Officers (PRJ Grade 29 and above or equivalent)

In addition to the above courses, the National Archives of Malaysia also conducts Malaysia Technical Cooperation Programme.

Objektive

  • Ensuring that knowledge, understanding, and skills are provided to ministries/departments/government agencies to enable them to implement record management programs and activities in accordance with laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Ensuring that government information and records are well-managed and utilized as a catalyst for improving service delivery systems and as a foundation for government service accountability and integrity.

  • Record Management Consultancy Service in Department for Departments/Agencies in the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Selangor, and Negeri Sembilan


  • Record Management Consultancy Service in Department for Departments/Agencies in the States. (Form can be faxed or emailed to the State Director of the National Archives of Malaysia)

Application Process

Ministries / Departments / Agencies interested in applying should complete SKL 1 Form and submit it to the Course Secretariat at least one (1) month before the course / lecture / briefing date. The completed application form should be submitted to the following address:
