Conclusion of A Treaty Between The Sultan And The Tumongong of Johor
The document relates to the Friendship Treaty between the states of Johor and Pahang, signed by Datoh Tumongong Abu Bakar Sri Maharajah Ibni Datoh Tumongong Daing Ibrahim Sri Maharajah (Sultan Sir Abu Bakar ibni Almarhum Temenggung Daeng Ibrahim Sri Maharaja Johor) and Datoh Bandaharah Ton Korais Sri Maharajah Ibni Rajah Bandaharah Tun Tahir on 17 June 1862 and witnessed by the Governor of the Straits Settlements. Among the contents of the treaty are the demarcation of boundaries between the two states on land and sea, an agreement to provide military assistance in the face of any warfare or threats from external parties, and trading privileges for the people of both states and also for the British subjects.
