The P.Ramlee Memorial Library

The P. Ramlee Memorial Library was officially opened on March 22, 1986. Its establishment was to honor the contributions of the Great Artist Tan Sri P. Ramlee to the local arts scene and to encourage research in aspects of national arts and culture.
The building of the P. Ramlee Memorial Library was originally his former residence. Reflecting his status as a Great Artist, the house was renovated and converted into a library displaying materials and information about Tan Sri P. Ramlee, who is synonymous with the development of music and film in the 1950s era. Indeed, his films and songs are still beloved by many to this day.
The exhibits in this library are based on specific themes to help visitors understand Tan Sri P. Ramlee personally. Among these themes are Sepintas Lalu, Biografi, Kenali P.Ramlee, Era Kebangkitan, Irama dan Lagu, Dunia Filem, Anugerah, Sepanjang Riwayatku, Al-Fatihah dan P.Ramlee Yang Ku Kenali. The library also showcases the film shooting atmosphere of "Penarik Beca" along with the original film-making equipment and a diorama of the filming of "Pendekar Bujang Lapok" with actor replicas. Additionally, costumes worn by Tan Sri P. Ramlee and the songstress Saloma are also on display. To experience the nostalgia of the old art era, visitors can take pictures dressed as Saloma, creating lasting memories of their visit to this library.
